Why the heck was Ethiopia invading Judah?
The Reign of Asa.
Asa gets rid of Asherah poles and other pagan chachkes; fortifies his towns and thereby kinda displays a lack of trust in the Lord (which the Bible neglects to mention); somehow defeats an invading 1-million-strong army; and bravely raids some little herdsmen. Real upstanding guy, our Asa. But back the truck up — why the heck was Ethiopia invading Judah? We wonder if this has something to do with the Solomonic line of Makeda, the Queen of Sheba?
